Monday, May 26 - Elyria Memorial Day Parade- Come strut your mutt with us during the Elyria Memorial Day Parade.  We need volunteers to carry banners too...call Linda Henry at the APL if you can join us.

Saturday, May 31 - 10:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. "Kick Up Your Paws for the Cause Festival" at the APL.  We are pleased to announce that self-published author Holly McCain of Lorain County will be on hand selling her book of puppy poetry.  She has graciously offered to donate 20% of sales to the APL.  Visit her web site at: http://www.hollyshadowtripod.com 

WOBL 1320 AM will hold a radio remote during the event.  Area rescues included so far:  Partners with Paws, Saint Francis Animal Sanctuary Inc., Lighthouse Boxer Rescue, Oasis Animal Shelter, Fido's Companion Rescue Inc., Erie Shores Humane Society and Team Greyhound.

Vendors who will have representatives at the event to answer questions and display products for your pet include:  Invisible Fence, Pampered Pooch Pastries, JeddersPetters Pet Sitting/Dog Walking Service, Mobile Mutts Grooming Van, Becky's Photography of Elyria will have information available with photos on display.

Saturday, June 14 - "A New Deal for the Animals Texas Hold'em" Father's Day Weekend Festival- $50.00 buy-in with 100% payout, one $40.00 re-buy and one $40.00 add-on. Sunday, July 6 - Vermilion-On-the-Lake, Vermilion from Nashville - Bluegrass Show and Auction, 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. If you have a new or collectible item valued at $100 or more, please bring to the show to donate for this fundraising auction to benefit the APL.

Dog Gone Campout - August 1 & 2, - If your family camps with a four-legged friend this is the weekend to do it.  Games, crafts and demonstrations geared to dogs.  Help the homeless pets of Lorain County!  Bring a bag of pet food and you will be entered to win prizes.  Should be a pawsitively good time.  Regular camping fees apply, call 440-647-5749 for more information.  Saturday, August 2nd "Kick Up Your Paws for the Cause" Dog Walk at 8 a.m.  Come walk through the lovely trails at Findley State Park and help the animals at the APL.  Pre-registration $10.00 per person, $15.00 per family.  Day of walk registration $15.00 per person, $20.00 per family.

 

Donate your junk mail to the shelter

 

Please bring your junk mail, newspapers, magazines, office paper, catalogues or whatever you have to the shelter for recycling.  No glass, plastic or bottles.

 The more we collect, the more we get per ton so everything is important. 

Don't forget to bring in your aluminum cans to recycle also.  Drop them off at the back near garage.  We appreciate your continued support and help in saving the environment. We all win with recycling.

May 24 at 10 AM at Friendship APL, 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria.

Gift Shop open 11 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Saturday,

11 am - 2:30 pm Sunday - LOTS OF NEW ITEMS!

Get your t-shirt, sweats, mug, fleece jackets, golf towels, golf

balls or "It's Raining Cats & Dogs- Spay or Neuter" Umbrella.  We

also carry dog crates, leashes, collars, bowls and some really cute

Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Indians "doggie raingear".

 

GRATEFUL DOG BAKERY is doing it again!

Wednesday will see benefits for "Rescue Organizations" 11 am to 7 pm

Beginning the 4th Wednesday of May, Nancy Winrod will donate 10% of Grateful Dog Bakery

sales to benefit the Friendship APL. This will continue every 4th Wednesday until further notice.
